Transportation Information for the AP Institute of the Cascades

Important: Parts of Central Oregon are in the path of Totality for the Solar Eclipse on August 21! We are expecting a huge influx of visitors to our area beginning the week of the Institute.   • AP Institute of the Cascades Shuttle: The shuttle will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It will pick you up at COCC at approximately 5:00pm and make two stops in Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District. At approximately 8:30, we will circle back around to take you back to COCC. This would be a FREE shuttle for Institute participants. If you think you might be interested in using this shuttle CLICK HERE so we can plan enough transportation.

Coats Campus Center on the Central Oregon Community College is located at 2600 N.W. College Way Bend, Oregon 97703.

Directions to Central Oregon Community College – Coats Campus Center:

From Redmond Airport: From the airport follow the signs to Bend/Highway 97 South. Take Highway 97 S into Bend (it becomes the Bend Parkway). Take exit 137, the Revere Avenue/COCC exit, and proceed to the second light. Turn right at that light, onto Portland Avenue. Go approximately 1 ½ miles to College Way. Turn right and proceed up the hill. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.

From the North (Portland): Follow Highway 26 to Madras and then continue on Highway 97 into Bend (it becomes the Bend Parkway). Take exit 137, the Revere Avenue/COCC exit, and proceed to the second light. Turn right at that light, onto Portland Avenue. Go approximately 1 ½ miles to College Way. Turn right and proceed up the hill. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.

From the West (Salem): Follow Highway 22/20 into Sisters. Continue on Highway 20 into Bend. Once in Bend, turn left on Empire Avenue and then right onto Highway 97 (Bend Parkway), heading south. Take exit 137, COCC/Revere Avenue exit, and proceed to the second light. Turn right at that light, onto Portland Avenue. Go approximately 1 ½ miles to College Way. Turn right and proceed up the hill. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.

From the South (California/Klamath Falls): Take Highway 97 north to Bend. Take exit 137, the Revere Avenue/COCC exit, and go left at the light. Turn left at the next light (Wall Street) and proceed to the first light. Turn right at that light, onto Portland Avenue. Go approximately 1 ½ miles to College Way. Turn right and proceed up the hill. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.

From the East (Boise/Burns): Take Highway 20 into Bend. Continue straight across Third Street on what is now Greenwood Avenue (after the next light it changes to Newport Avenue). Proceed approximately 2 miles to the third roundabout and go right onto College Way. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.

Alternative Route –

Alternate route from the North: Going south on N Highway 97, turn right onto Mt. Washington Drive, just past the Riverhouse on the right. Follow Mt. Washington Drive around the north side of Awbrey Butte until you reach Regency Street on the left. Turn left on Regency and follow it to NW College Way and turn right. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.

Alternate route from the South: Heading north on the Bend Parkway take the Reed Market Road exit and head west. (If traveling on Highway 97, turn left onto Reed Market Road.) Heading west, continue straight through the various roundabouts. Reed Market Road then becomes Mt. Washington Drive. Go north on Mt. Washington Drive straight through more roundabouts to the campus’s north entrance. Turn right on Regency St. and right onto College Way. Once on campus, park in any of the designated visitor spots.
