Where should I go to check-in on August 14 and 15?

We strongly encourage everyone to check in on Monday August 14. Check-in on August 14 from Noon – 4 p.m. and August 15 from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. Check-in will occur at the Coates Campus Center on the COCC Campus at 2600 NW College Way in Bend, Oregon. At check-in, you will receive a name tag, a parking pass, a schedule, and your session location with a map of the campus.

What is included in my registration cost?

Tuition includes registration, course materials, breakfast, lunch and midday snacks for all four days of the institute. Breathtaking views of the Cascades mountains are free of charge.

What will I need to bring to my session?

Two weeks before the Institute, we will send you an email with a list of what to bring for your session. Your presenter may also contact you directly with further information on what to bring to your session. Please periodically check your email in the weeks leading up to the API Cascades.

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to use throughout the week.

Complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the COCC campus.

What meals will be provided at the training?

Breakfast, lunch and midday snacks will be provided for all four days of the Institute, August 15-18.

Are you able to accommodate dietary restrictions?

Our lunches will accommodate vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dietary restrictions. Due to the large size of the event, we cannot guarantee accommodations for other dietary needs. Please indicate your dietary restrictions when you register.

What will parking look like at the AP® Summer Institute?

Attendees will receive a parking pass for the COCC campus upon check-in.

Registration

What is the deadline to register?

The deadline to register for the API Cascades Summer Institute is August 11 at 5 p.m. Walk-in registrations will not be accepted after this time. Please be aware that courses could be cancelled due attendance requirements. We strongly encourage you to register as soon as possible.

What is the deadline to cancel my registration?

To cancel your registration you must contact catherine.halliwell-templin@hdesd.org.

Reimbursement policy

Prior to June 9, 2017: All fees minus $150 processing fee will be reimbursed.

Between June 9, 2017 — July 9, 2017: 50% of all fees will be reimbursed.

Between July 10 — August 15: No refunds will be given.

Participants who have not sent a written cancellation and do not attend the institute will be charged the total registration fee.

Lodging

Do you have a hotel conference rate for attendees?

Residence Halls are available on the COCC Campus and there are several local hotels with room blocks for the Institute. Be sure to make your lodging reservations as early as possible. Visit our Lodging page for more information.

Book your lodging as soon as possible
August is high tourist season in Bend. Additionally, Central Oregon is a prime viewing location for the solar eclipse occurring only days after the Institute. As a result, hotels are expected to be at maximum occupancy. Be sure to reserve your lodging early.
